About Dothan Rescue Mission
The purpose of the Dothan Rescue Mission is to minister to indigent residents and transients in the area by addressing the need of the total person. The mission is a non-denominational organization and sees itself as an extension of the church to minister to people having particular needs in the community.
Dothan Rescue Mission Support
Churches:
Fifty-Seven churches contribute of the financial support of the mission through their budgets or conduction of food drives. Many of these have the mission in their budgets.
Thrift Store:
The mission operates a Sales Center at 2210 Ross Clark Circle, Suite One.
Individuals:
Local businesses find it desirable to support the work of the mission.
Civic Organizations:
Many area civic organizations budget funds or conduct food/clothing drives.
Donation Collection:
Donated items will be picked up by mission truck upon request.
Dothan Rescue Mission Memberships
The Dothan Rescue Mission is a member of the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions. The purpose of the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions is to promote cooperation, build fellowships, provide services to the local ministries, raise the profiles of the Rescue Missions, establish new Rescue Missions, provide national interface with churches, other evangelical outreaches, governmental and secular social service organizations, provide education and training, and develop programs which mutually advance the cause of our Lord Jesus Christ."
The Dothan Rescue Mission is also a member of the Alabama Rescue Service Association, Inc. which provides sales tax exemption for the State of Alabama.
